Make the most of your time at Scott Banks Hairdressing

At Scott Banks Hairdressing our Colourists will always;

Talk honestly about limitations
Mention hair integrity before aesthetics
Explain maintenance clearly
Discuss undertones and fading realistically
Adjust expectations instead of promising “platinum in one session”

Here are some questions that you may wish to ask prior to your Colour or Colour Correction Service at Scott Banks Hairdressing.

Expected Results

What colour placement would work best for my hair goals and maintenance level?
Is my inspiration photo realistic for my current hair?
How many sessions would it take to achieve this safely?
What undertones do you expect to come through on my hair?
Will this look brighter in natural light vs indoor light?
How will the colour grow out after 6–12 weeks?
Can you make it look dimensional instead of flat or stripey?
What tones would suit my skin tone and natural base best?

My Hair Health

Is my hair healthy enough for this service right now?
Do you anticipate significant damage or dryness?
Would you recommend a bond builder or treatment during the appointment?
How much lift can my hair realistically handle in one session?
Are there parts of my hair that are more compromised than others?
If my hair has previous colour, how will that affect the result?

Technique Used

What technique would you use on me specifically — balayage, foils, teasy lights, root melt, gloss, etc.?
Why are you choosing that technique over others?
How do you avoid harsh lines or banding?
Do you specialize in lived-in colour/ghost blonde/dimensional brunettes?
Do you tone differently for longevity vs brightness?

Ongoing Maintenance

How often would I realistically need appointments?
What services would I need between major colour sessions?
How much upkeep is required at home?
What shampoo/conditioner/products do you recommend?
Will I need purple shampoo or colour masks?
What happens as the toner fades?

Pricing & Timings

What is the estimated total price range?
What could make the price increase during the appointment?
Does the quote include toner, treatments, cut, and blow dry?
How long should I expect to be in the salon?
What is your correction policy if the tone isn’t right afterwards?

I’ve Had Bad Colour Before

Can you work around previous box dye or uneven colour?
Do you think I need a colour correction rather than a standard appointment?
What risks do you see based on my hair history?
Would you recommend a strand test first?

Reassurances

These are especially useful because experienced colourists usually answer them clearly and confidently:

What would be the biggest challenge with my hair?
What would you not recommend for me and why?
How do you keep blondes from looking overprocessed?
How do you customise tone placement for different haircuts / textures?
What’s your approach when a client wants low maintenance but maximum brightness?
